02 Inspect with confidence
View STL Files Online
Our free online STL viewer gives you a clear, accurate look at a model before it reaches the slicer. There is no installer or account—just open a file and start inspecting.
Drag to examine every surface, switch to wireframe to see how the model is built, and check dimensions, triangle count, volume and surface area in one place.
04 Dimensions and model details
Inspect Your STL Model
See the information hidden inside an STL at a glance. The viewer calculates the model’s X, Y and Z dimensions, unique vertices, triangle count, surface area, estimated volume and bounding box. It also identifies whether the source is an ASCII or Binary STL file. Because STL files do not store a unit, dimensions are interpreted as millimeters—the convention used by most 3D-printing slicers.

Measure STL Files Online
Select Measure in the viewer toolbar, then click any two points on the model. The point-to-point distance appears using the same assumed millimeter scale while the model stays interactive. Use it to confirm clearances, wall spans or important features before slicing; if your source was modeled in inches, convert the scale before relying on the result.
